The Trump-Kim Summit in Singapore is scheduled to take place in just about a month from now.

Meanwhile, the North Korean Missile Crisis still exists until denuclearization is completed to the extent that it has finally been confirmed and verified. So, in spite of the apparent goodwill that is coming from Pyongyang, we must remain vigilant.

 

Meanwhile, three days ago on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, President Donald J. Trump had officially cancelled America’s commitment to the Iran Nuclear Deal. On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, Iran fired 20 rockets from its military aircraft deployed in Syria at Israeli troop emplacements on the Golan Heights. On Thursday, May 10, Israel carried out an aerial attack at an Iranian military base in Syria. So there are now concerns that these incidents could escalate into a regional war in the Middle East.

RE: TRUMP-KIM SINGAPORE SUMMIT ON JUNE 12, 2016 AND CONCERNS

 

Dear Mr. President:

 

While Singapore may be a far better location for holding a summit than Beijing, it might not be the ideal place and time for holding a meeting with Kim Jong Un.

 

As for the date, Thursday, June 12, 2018, because Singapore is located west of the International Date Line (IDL), the Summit will actually be held on Friday, June 13, 2018. Because at least a few people are superstitious, most hotels do not have a 13^th floor. In addition, beginning in June of each year, the air quality becomes rather unsafe for persons with a heart or respiratory illness.

Kim Jong Un may have a heart condition. The reason for Singapore’s poor air quality is due to the slash-and-burn fires that begin each June on the large neighboring island of Sumatra.

 

Although Singapore is now an advanced city-state, it still has a tropical rainforest climate, which has warm temperatures and rainfall nearly every day of the year because it is situated just north of the Equator. So, while being outside, umbrellas are quite common for providing shade from the rain and sun. However, umbrellas may also be a concern for security reasons.

 

Singapore has been able to maintain its neutrality through diplomacy and its military forces.
