“Good for Joe Biden. He’s man enough to stand for principles,” I thought last week when his campaign affirmed his support for the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits use of taxpayer money to fund abortions.

Even liberals who support abortion should ethically accept that those who see abortion as murder should not be coerced to be accomplices to this crime by paying for it. Tolerant liberals used to believe that pacifists have a moral and religious right to claim “conscientious objector” status in a war and not be forced to kill others.

“The best policy for our country on the question of abortion is … government neutrality,” Biden once reportedly said. “I do not believe that the government should be involved in making judgments on whether a woman can, or should have an abortion, or – if she chooses to do so – in paying for that abortion.”

Today, however, radical leftists have hijacked the Democratic Party and insist that even Roman Catholic nuns, the Little Sisters of the Poor, must be compelled to violate their deepest religious beliefs by paying for employee abortifacients. Abortion appears to be the godless left’s highest secular sacrament in the worship of its pagan god Moloch.

Few were surprised, therefore, when self-serving former Vice President Biden flip-flopped the next day and declared he was joining 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Senators Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, former tobacco industry lawyer Kirsten Gillibrand, legalized prostitution advocate Kamala Harris, Cory Booker and Amy Klobuchar in promising to force taxpayers to fund abortions, including the killing of infants only minutes before (or even after) natural birth. Even liberal European welfare states seldom permit such late-term infanticide.

Biden’s turncoat reversal after coming under fanatical leftist assault was so sudden that the webzine ZeroHedge said “it was amazing he doesn’t have whiplash.”

“I can’t justify leaving millions of women without access to care they need and their ability to exercise their constitutionally protected right,” said Biden. “Times have changed.”

But Biden, like fellow left-wing Democrat CINOs (Catholics In Name Only), has found it easy to accommodate his political ideology with killing unborn babies.

During his 47-year career at the government trough, Biden was at times ranked among the most “liberal” U.S. senators by National Journal. For several years he received a 100 percent rating by the National Abortion Right Action League (NARAL Pro-Choice America) and a zero rating by the National Right to Life Committee. In 2008, Biden was denied the sacrament of Holy Communion by the bishop of Scranton, Pennsylvania, because of his support for abortion.

Biden, as chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, was praised by pro-abortion activists for confirming “pro-abortion” judges and “Borking” pro-life judges.

The left has never forgiven Biden for backing off when Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas turned to the TV cameras during his 1991 “Borking” and famously said: “This is a circus. It’s a national disgrace. And from my standpoint, as a black American, it is a high-tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves, to do for themselves, to have different ideas, and it is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order, this is what will happen to you.”

Today Biden kowtows to the anti-life left, which now demands the automatic rejection of even wishy-washy nominal Roman Catholic judges. This bigotry is demanded despite the Constitution’s prohibition of any religious test for government office.

Imagine that your 14-year-old daughter became pregnant, and government officials helped her get a secret abortion without your knowledge. Turncoat Joe voted against parental notification before underage girls have abortions, and against notifying parents of minors taken to another state for an abortion. He voted against criminal penalties for harming an unborn baby during the commission of a crime.

In today’s Brave New World of socialism, Democrats are no longer judged by what principles they hold – but by how quickly every vestige of morality is thrown overboard if the mob demands it. Joe Biden is a moral chameleon who stands for nothing.

When the Marxist mob demanded that Biden retract calling Vice President Mike Pence a “decent guy,” Turncoat Joe immediately obeyed.

Biden has a choice. He can either remain a corrupt empty suit, or he can risk losing in 2020 and save his soul. He can tell voters to reject today’s demon-possessed Democratic Party until the hate-filled leftist radicals who rule it are exorcised.

Perhaps God has given this sinner a higher mission – to save our nation from going to Hell.

I REMEMBER D-DAY AS A CHILD DURING MY FIRST SEMESTER IN FIRST GRADE

Due to my health, I was unable to write about D-Day as a child during my first semester in First Grade. At that time, we lived in Los Angeles where I attended Queen Anne Place Elementary School. Although it would probably not be considered as being “politically correct” when our teacher, Mrs. Goodman, showed us a silent film in color of a dramatization on the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, she did. But it was not until after a paper drive held at the school that we had the funds to purchase a brand new Victor motion picture projector with sound, which enabled us to see and hear the landing at Normandy on D-Day in color. Later, some of us were able to similar footage for a special news reel release at the Forum Theatre.

 

As a youngster who had just turned five years about three months before D-Day, I was aware we were at war. During the previous year when in Kindergarten, I missed a day of school to go and see General Doolittle and General Paton at a parade on Broadway. Being near Hollywood, I had never heard such loud cheers of admiration during my entire life. We even saw a captured V-1 “buzz-bomb” intact. Yes, we were definitely aware of the Second World War.

 

Due to so many beach landings, later I learned the U.S. Coast Guard had the highest fatalities on a per capita basis of any military branch. More recently, I became aware of a U.S. Navy cruiser that maneuvered very close to shore to fire upon the German fortresses that were killing so many American soldiers.

 

As for what I now know, D-Day was probably one of the worst strategies in military history.

Meanwhile, back in America, rationing was then being lifted on so many consumer products that had been in storage or just being manufactured. We were so over confident of our victories in Europe that so many civilians had neglected to realize the danger from Japan.

 

One early morning before sunrise, when we were on “double daylight savings time, while still waiting for breakfast, I saw a Japanese aerial reconnaissance plane flying northward from San Pedro over Los Angeles with just enough light for infra-red film. That airplane was probably in the process of photographing aircraft manufacturing plants as key targets for a planned bombing from Japan of an Atomic Bomb because the U.S. was then not the only nation that had developed a nuclear weapon. Although such information still remains censored even today, Japan came so close to deploying their own Atomic Bomb over Los Angeles.

 

D-Day was just part of a much wider scope of World War II.  JWS
