Days ago, Special Counsel Robert Mueller ended his 675-day investigation into alleged Russian influence in our 2016 national election. He announced that no additional indictments should be sought, which appears to clear President Donald Trump and his family of the most serious suspicions of collusion with Moscow or other wrongdoing.

Mueller’s findings can help heal America’s body politic from this controversy, which has been turning human love into polarized, partisan hatred.

A new survey by matchmakers OkCupid finds that since 2016, the percentage of people who consider a potential date’s political compatibility more important than romantic qualities has surged from 23 to 30 percent of men and from 27 to 42 percent of women.

The left has politicized love itself.

Reporting this survey, the New York Post quoted several liberal women who admitted their romantic relations with conservative men were much more satisfying than being with leftist “pajama boys.”

The just-released General Social Survey at the University of Chicago found that “41 percent of Democrats are without a steady partner, compared with only 29 percent of Republicans.” This, reported the Washington Post, “has helped drive singledom to a record high among the overall public.”

 “Women are having fewer children, and they’re having them later in life,” according to the Washington Post. “The median age of first marriage is increasing. And according to a 2017 report from the Pew Research Center, among those who have never married but are open to it, most say a major reason is because they haven’t found the right person.”

Growing evidence now shows that women find “Mr. Right” on the political right, not among permanently infantilized male leftovers.

“Republicans tend to have happier marriages than do Democrats,” writes Professor Nicholas Wolfinger of the University of Utah.

“Political independents have sex even more often than Republicans,” he writes, but independents “cheat [on their mates] at the same [high] rate Democrats do.”

“Most women prefer high fidelity to Peter Pan males of selfish low fidelity and faithlessness who never grow up to become mature, responsible, loving adults,” I wrote two years ago.

Nearly a third of male Millennials – a generation whose oldest members are now around age 37 – are still living in their parents’ basement, earning too little money to win a mate, paying little or no taxes, and being hypnotized by mindless leftist propaganda on CNN and MSNBC (Marxist Socialist NBC).

Single Millennial women have married their fortunes to a more reliable provider, Uncle Sam, under the bureaucratic concept of GARS, Government Assuming the Role of Spouse.

More than 49 percent of both Millennials and follow-on Generation Z told a recent Harris/Axios Poll that they would prefer living in a socialist country. These generations vote 2 to 1 for Democrats, who now buy votes by offering $100 trillion in freebies, including Social Security for illegal aliens.

Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi offers another way to win the votes of those who get government goodies for free because they pay no taxes. Pelosi advocates “lowering the voting age to 16. I think it’s really important to capture kids when they’re in high school.”

Yes, get those kids when they are captives in government schools, being fed pro-Big Government propaganda and marched out to stage education “strikes” in favor of global warming alarmism. Sixteen-year-olds thus programmed by unionized government teachers will mostly vote Democratic, as they have been taught.

But as Cambridge University neuroscientist Peter Jones said days ago, one should not expect mature thinking from a voter aged 16, 18 or 21. People do not become fully adult until their 30s. If we want wisdom, as American Thinker pundit Ethel Fenig urged, then we should not lower the voting age to 16 but raise it to 30.

If the 2012 race between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney had permitted only those 30 or older to vote, Romney would have won.

The infantile Democratic Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is 29.

Democrats have already reduced the mental age of Millennials to that of irresponsible children dependent on a paternalistic government. A recent survey found that 3 in 5 Millennials say that life is “more stressful now than ever before.”

More stressful than war, famine, economic depression? Yes, say Millennials, who include among the top 20 stressful scenarios they suffer: slow WiFi; cell phone battery dying; credit card bills; choosing what to wear; and washing dishes.

They would feel much better if they accepted Mueller’s good news about President Trump’s innocence, stopped hating, and opened their hearts to embrace conservatives.
